Le Rouge et le Noir by Stendhal || Book Review.






I have read "Le Rouge et le Noir" almost 5 months ago? But it has been bugging me for so long that I HAD to write something about it and let out my emotions towards this book. It touches a very sensitive topic and that is pretty much 'revenge'. Julien Sorel has had a really tough childhood and he has always been controlled or manipulated by his bossy father, so later on, he has moved to Paris and met Madame de Rênal. He seduced her and she fell for him. Stendhal wrote this book to relish in delineating the weakness of women back in the 1800's..They were still made vulnerable by their need of a man in their life to validate their reason to exist. (La raison d'être) as well as boost up their confidence and self-esteem. 
Julien has tricked Madame de Rênal to fall for him so he would raise his social statut as "an appropriate revenge for those years of subjection." 
The use of words and expressions that Stendhal has chosen to write this amazing master piece is amazing. How can anyone have a great language and be able to make every single sentence a god-damn artwork? 
I'm saluting him.
I also invite you to watch the movie because it's well made though the book is obviously better lol

All these idols were destined to become top class ones! The MBC iMobile app <Heyo TV> was broadcasted on the 13th July, introducing these six trainees: Kim Sanggyun, Yoo Seonho, Kim Donghan, Takada Kenta, Kwon Hyunbin and Lee Gunhee, who gathered here to be able to communicate with their fans and show their hidden charms through this broadcast. La vie en rose~

  I don't even know if people read what I write and I'm sure nobody does but eh whatever. The reason I'm writing this is because lately I've been feeling really good and I'm literally having those moments when we see "la vie en rose" (life in pink = the happy life) not because of people treating me good or because my friends did something for me but it's all because of my own self. I wasn't a very confident person for the past few years, I'd always look at myself in the mirror, do my hair million times, wear the whole closet and still be disgusted by the wayI look and always tried to look "perfect" not to impress myself but to impress my environment...But lately, I thought about this for a while and realised that no matter how I look or dress, people will critisize you either way so why not try to impress myself instead and just think of myself as a "good enough person" (?) all the time, and duh!
